Naughty Dog Teases That They Have "Exciting Things" To Share During This Week's THE LAST OF US Day

Naughty Dog has teased that they have some exciting news to share with fans of the critically acclaimed The Last of Us series, which will be revealed this Saturday during this year's The Last of Us Day.

The Last of Us is one of Naughty Dog's most critically acclaimed series, and the latest entry was finally released in June of this year for the PlayStation 4; to some very positive reviews from critics, but a very lukewarm to negative reception from fans of the first title.

While The Last of Us Part II's reception may have been mixed, there are still some hardcore fans that loved the controversial title, while fans of the original can still enjoy the original game any time they want, so it is sort of a win-win situation depending on your point of view.

Naughty Dog has done their best to keep fans of the series updated on every bit of news regarding The Last of Us, whether they liked the second game or not, and it seems that they still have a few surprises in store for players.

The developer announced today that they will be sharing some exciting news this Saturday the 26th of September, which is the day in which Naughty Dog celebrates the survival-horror series; formerly known as Outbreak Day, which is the day in which the outbreak began in the game.

On account of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, Naughty Dog has decided to rename the day to The Last of Us Day, but that's all they will be changing, and players should expect to hear some exciting news about plans the developer may have for the future of the series.

Of course, this is only but a tease, so they don't revel exactly what they will be talking about on Saturday, but chances are that they will reveal new content for The Last of Us Part II, and maybe even confirm whether the game will also be released on PlayStation 5. We'll have to wait until this Saturday to see what Naughty Dog has been cooking.

Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. As she hunts those responsible one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

The Last of Us Part II is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
