MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN REMASTERED Has Brought Back The Haunting Boat People; Just For Laughs, Of Course

Many players will remember the nightmare-inducing "boat people" from MARVEL's Spider-Man. As it turns out, Insomniac Games has decided to bring them back in the remaster, and they are as equally haunting.

MARVEL's Spider-Man Remastered, as well as the all-new MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, have already been available since yesterday. With the former being available on PlayStation 5, and Miles Morales' new adventure actually being available on both the PlayStation 4 and Sony's recently release next-gen console.

As it is to be expected from a remaster, the developers at Insomniac Games have polished the original MARVEL's Spider-Man even more, in order to give players a smoother video gaming experience than its predecessor. While there's always room for improvement, the original game did set the bar pretty high.

Many players will remember that there was a particular aspect of the original MARVEL's Spider-Man that was a little bit less polished than the rest, at least in terms of graphics: the infamous boat people.

If you haven't heard about the boat people, they were very low poly 3D models that look like they came from the early generation of 3D video game consoles. As the name appropriately suggests, they could be found in boats sailing around the Big Apple, which are normally areas the player wouldn't be able to access, but they did.

As it turns out, Insomniac Games has decided to bring back the nightmare-inducing boat people for MARVEL's Spider-Man Remastered, even when the PlayStation 5 is more than capable of handling better graphics for all NPCs now.

This time, however, they brough them back as an easter egg, which was first spotted by Reddit user SeniorTaco, who uploaded a pic and noticed that this boat person has now got a sticky note that reads "Did you miss us?" on its shirt. Chances are that players didn't miss them, but this is a nice little easter egg, and we love Insomniac Games even more for it.

Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create an authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel's New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.

MARVEL's Spider-Man is currently available for the PlayStation 4.
