On October 4th, Sony invites PC gamers to Blackwood Mountain to experience a vacation gone horrific. Supermassive Games' interactive drama horror Until Dawn is slated to arrive on PC (and PS5) on October 4th. Ahead of its release, Sony has detailed the PC hardware specs as well as special features.

"The PC version will have advanced graphical features, customizability, accessibility features and run on a wide range of hardware," said Chris Lamb, Technical Director at Ballistic Moon, the studio responsible or the remake.

One of the big features available on PC will be full support of the DualSense controller. Similar to the PS5 console version, the PC version will allow for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

You’ll be able to experience haptic feedback, feeling the heartbeat of the characters during intense Don’t Move sequences. Adaptive triggers allow you to feel the weight of your choices, and experience life-like resistance when pulling the trigger of firearms.

The PC version will also offer upscaling with NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3. For NVIDIA, DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) 3.7 is an AI-based upscaler that boosts graphics performance and framerates on GeForce RTX GPUs while retaining image quality. For AMD, it'll support latest version of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3.1, a similar upscaling technology that's designed to run on virtually any hardware.

Other visual improvements include support for ultrawide aspect ratios of 21:9, 32.9, and more. For those who don't want to use the 23.9:1 cinematic aspect ratio, you can also run in the original 16:9 aspect ratio or run in a "Free" aspect ratio mode.

Rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, Until Dawn on PC also offers a curated set of ray-tracing features, such as shadows, reflection, and Ambient Occlusion. And on PC, you'll have unlocked frame rate, meaning you can play at whatever frame rate your machine can support.
