Between the seventh installment of Resident Evil to now, there have been significant strides in the overall presentation and gameplay of the classic horror franchise. With the remakes of the first and second game taking elements from the 7th, while also changing some established gameplay ideas and even changing the story, whatever Capcom would have planned next would be sure to turn heads.

Resident Evil 8: Village is a fine example of how backtracking and redefining on something can change things for the better. While not much is known about how the game will play, either leaning into survival horror or more action or even if the game will be in the first or third person, it is safe to assume that whatever comes next will only aid in getting the maximum story impact.

During the recent Playstation 5 Showcase, the game's second trailer was released and showed off some of the game's visuals with a voiceover telling a story. Not much is known yet about the story or what is to come, but in time, the mystery behind RE8 is sure to be uncovered.

Will the new title make it to your horror list? Make sure to check out the new trailer below, and don't forget to share your thoughts in the usual spot!
