The first Syphon Filter was released in 1999, so there's a rather big chance that the young generation of gamers never heard about the first and arguably the biggest Bend Studio's project. The developer managed to develop three installment for the first Playstation, Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain on Playstation 2, and two smaller games on Playstation Portable. From 2007 the series has stayed dead, but thanks to the UE registration acts the hope to see a new Syphon Filter is reborn. 

Sony has registered in EUIPO Syphon Filter trademark in two categories - video-games and internet services. The last time we heard about registering trademarks for Playstation, Shadow of the Colossus Remake was announced shortly after. Of course, don't get your hopes up, as it's just a hint, not a confirmation that we will get a Syphon Filter remake/Definitive Edition/HD Edition.
