Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is an action third-person shooter developed by Yuke's and published by D3 Publisher coming exclusively for the PlayStation 4
in 2019.
The game is the eighth installment in the
Earth Defense Force series that started on the PlayStation 2 with
Monster Attack in 2003. While the series is usually received with mixed reviews,
Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain seems to want to change things up a bit by offering a more serious tone.
The story in
Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain takes players to the year of 2028, in a world that has been invaded by the Aggressors, a threat from another world that has began their attack by sending out hordes of insect-looking creatures. It is up to humans to fence off this new threat any way they can. In 2032, new technology appeared and humans were able to develop powerful exoskeleton suits that have finally given them a fighting chance.
