Riftbound has publicly addressed the wave of unexpected order cancellations that hit the limited T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition drawing. In a statement posted on the official account, the team apologized for both the delay in updates and the confusion caused by the morning’s refunds.

Earlier in the day, a number of players who had successfully been selected, completed payment, and received confirmation emails saw their $360 orders canceled and refunded. Many of those affected were long-time Riot account holders who insisted they had followed every rule and could not understand how their purchases had been flagged. The cancellations sparked immediate frustration across social media, with players arguing that anti-bot measures had swept up legitimate fans alongside automated accounts.

According to the new update, the team conducted a manual review of the cancelled orders and identified a problem with the methodology used to build the pool of rejected accounts from the previous day. As a result, players who were incorrectly affected by the cancellations will receive new selection emails. These are being drawn from T1 Signature Editions that went unpurchased in the earlier window, as well as units recovered from accounts confirmed as bots.

Both the corrective emails for wrongly cancelled orders and the additional wave of new selects are expected to begin going out no later than 6 p.m. Pacific Time on August 21. The order window for these emails has been extended through Monday, August 24, at 9 a.m. Pacific, giving recipients more time to complete their purchases.

The T1 Signature Edition remains one of the most restricted products Riftbound has released. Only 10,125 English copies exist. Each box contains five special cards featuring art chosen by members of the championship roster, with one card in every set carrying a unique serial number and gold-stamped player signature. Access has been handled exclusively through a lottery-style drawing rather than an open sale, precisely to reduce the impact of bots and scalpers.

The decision to audit results after the first wave of selections was an attempt to protect that limited stock. The execution, however, created a noticeable number of false positives that turned confirmed winners into cancelled customers within hours. By pausing the next drawing, reviewing the data manually, and committing to reinstate the incorrectly affected players, the team is attempting to reverse the damage.

The statement closes by acknowledging how frustrating the day has been for both those who had orders cancelled and those still waiting for a selection email. It also notes that the experience will be used to improve systems and processes for future drawings.

For players who received cancellation notices this morning, the practical next step is to watch their inboxes for a new selection email. Those emails will carry the same extended purchase window through Monday morning. Anyone who does not receive a corrective email and believes their order was wrongly voided is still being directed to contact Riot Game Support for individual review.

The limited nature of the T1 Signature Edition was always going to create intense demand and scrutiny. The combination of a post-draw security sweep and imperfect filtering produced a day of unnecessary stress for a portion of the player base that had already cleared every official hurdle. The corrective steps announced late on August 21 aim to restore those orders and move the remaining stock into the hands of verified participants. How cleanly the new emails land and how many of the contested cancellations are ultimately reversed will determine whether the episode is remembered as a recoverable misstep or a lasting source of irritation.
