Earlier this month, CBS Studios revealed the first wave of actors set to star in the upcoming Among Us animated series. Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us, Blindspot), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Wilford), Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat, Always Be My Maybe), and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, The Odd Couple) have already been revealed as different characters in the series, and today three more big-named stars joined the cast.
Dan Stevens (Solar Opposites), Liv Hewson (Yellowjackets), and Kimiko Glenn (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) will each voice a different crewmember in the upcoming series. Once again, the reveal also included a brief description for the characters they will be voicing. And like the game, these characters don't have actual names — at least not that we know — but are instead referred to by their color.
Stevens will voice the ship's doctor, Blue. "Knowledge, charming and "so hot," Blue has the task of supporting the crew with physical and emotional care. Fun fact, Blue also has a doctorate in poetry.
Hewson will voice Black, a Geologist described as "stoic, coarse, rock-like." Black supervises the ore shipments and "prefers rocks to people."
Last but not least, Glenn will voice Cyan, the Gemologist who "supervises the vibes" and "heals through crystals."
The Among Us animated series is based on the video game of the same name. While there isn't much of an actual story in the game, it's an online multiplayer social deduction game in which players are split into two groups: Crewmates and Impostors. Crewmates must work together to perform tasks around the ship while also trying to identify the Impostors. The Impostors must kill the crewmates.
The animated series will follow this same premise. The logline reads: “Members of your crew have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone. Root out the ‘Impostor’ or fall victim to its murderous designs.”
The Among Us animated series is created and produced by Owen Dennis with CBS Studios and game developer Innersloth. CBS Studios' animation branch Eye Animation Productions is developing the series in partnership with Innersloth.
There's no release date for the series yet, and no network or streamer is currently attached to the project.
