Looking to build on the hype of this week's theatrical release of Alien: Romulus, developer Survios announced the release date of its upcoming VR game, Alien: Rogue Incursion. The highly anticipated single-player, action-horror VR game is set to launch on December 19, 2024.
As previously announced, Alien: Rogue Incursion will be available on PlayStation VR2, PCVR via Steam, and Meta Quest 3. Pre-orders for the game are now available on all three platforms.
Developed by Survios, an industry-leading virtual reality studio, in collaboration with 20th Century Games, Alien: Rogue Incursion features an original storyline set within the Alien film universe. A new trailer released today shed some more light on the story of the game which will star fan-favorite character and rogue Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, voiced by Emmy Award winner Andia Winslow.
The game stars Zula Hendricks, an unbreakable ex-Colonial Marine, on a dangerous mission that brings her to the uncharted planet Purdan, and the secrets hiding beneath its surface. With her sentient AI companion, Davis 01, Zula must fight her way to the heart of the infested Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility. There she will need to survive deadly attacks from the most cunning Xenomorphs ever encountered and discover new horrors and threats that once unleashed could spell the end for humankind.
In the trailer below, you can get a glimpse of the horror and terror they will experience firsthand as they suit up in VR as Zula. We also get a first look at the weaponry and gear you'll have at your disposal when battling the Xenomorphs.
Created using Unreal Engine, Alien: Rogue Incursion is described as being "designed by Alien fans for Alien fans" and looks to offer a "technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game."
“Our team at Survios are huge fans of Alien and have been building Alien: Rogue Incursion for a long time, honing our ability to pair the most technically advanced, immersive, and engaging VR experiences with best-in-class franchises," said TQ Jefferson, Chief Product Officer at Survios. "This fully original story embraces all our favorite elements from 45 years of Alien, from kinetic action and heart-pounding exploration to our terrifyingly resourceful Xenomorphs that will truly make your skin crawl. We can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it this holiday season.”
The Standard Edition of Alien: Rogue Incursion is priced at $39.99, while the Deluxe Edition — which includes an assortment of weapon and armor cosmetics — costs $49.99.
