In VR, no one can hear you scream. At least that's the feeling I get watching the first gameplay teaser video for Alien: Rogue Incursion, a new virtual reality game set within the terrifying Alien universe.

First announced last month, Alien: Rogue Incursion transports players into a virtual recreation of this iconic universe where they'll experience the horrors of the Xenomorph first-hand.

During the PlayStation State of Play this week, we got our first look at gameplay. It's more of a teaser than a full-fledged gameplay walkthrough, but it does a good job of setting the tone for what we can expect in the upcoming VR game.

A press release confirms players will explore an overrun facility on the inhospitable planet Purdan. Despite the teaser running less than one minute, it's filled with high tension. From the stressful consistent bleeping of the motion tracker to the glimpses of Xenomorph lurking in the shadow, the game seems to perfectly encapsulate the horror of being alone against the Perfect Organism. Do you have the skills to survive?

Alien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player, action-horror game featuring an all-new storyline of an ultimate mission that tests players’ courage, wits, and skill to survive the terrors of the Perfect Organism. A high tension shooter developed with Unreal Engine 5, players will need to stay frosty as they explore an overrun facility on the inhospitable planet Purdan.

lien: Rogue Incursion is a single-player, action-horror VR game with an original story developed by Survios in collaboration with 20th Century Games. Created using Unreal Engine, Alien: Rogue Incursion is described as being "designed by Alien fans for Alien fans" and looks to offer a "technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game."

“Our team at Survios are huge fans of Alien and have been building Alien: Rogue Incursion for a long time, honing our ability to pair the most technically advanced, immersive, and engaging VR experiences with best-in-class franchises," said TQ Jefferson, Chief Product Officer at Survios, last month. "This fully original story embraces all our favorite elements from 45 years of Alien, from kinetic action and heart-pounding exploration to our terrifyingly resourceful Xenomorphs that will truly make your skin crawl. We can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it this holiday season.”

Alien: Rogue Incursion is set to arrive later this year during the holiday season for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 3, and PCVR via Steam.
