The creators of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just released the promised gameplay trailer featuring new monsters, abilities, and so much more!

The time has come!

A little less than two months remain until The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is released for the Nintendo Switch on May 12th, and the general producer of the franchise, Eiji Aonuma, has just delivered over ten minutes of new information about the Breath of the Wild sequel, including new abilities, new monsters, and a new Nintendo Switch model!

The Construct, a new enemy on the Sky Islands, and four new abilities—Recall, Fuse, Ultrahand, and Ascend—with which Link will have to navigate Hyrule—were all shown off in the trailer. Recall allows players to go back in time for an object, Fuse combines multiple weapons or objects to increase their power and durability, and Ascend enables Link to swim through ceilings of buildings. It looks like 

An epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule awaits in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch. The adventure is yours to create in a world fueled by your imagination.

In this sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above. Can you harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight back against the malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom?

Along with the gameplay, a new Nintendo Switch OLED model, case, and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller were unveiled for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Release dates for the updated Switch are April 28 and May 12 for the controller and casing, respectively.
