Perhaps the latest and most exciting update comes in the form of Square Enix, giving a reason for Xbox fans to hope that Final Fantasy 16 may just hit the console. According to Naoki 'Yoshi-P' Yoshida, a producer of both Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16, the company really wants to release Final Fantasy 16 on Microsoft's console, but there is not much certitude concerning the release date.

In an interview with Video Games, Yoshida-san did say there is a desire to bring Final Fantasy 16 to Xbox and that the company wants to release it on the platform. However, he was very careful not to commit to any release date, saying the company is not in a position to show or announce anything concrete.

"Of course we did announce the PC version of the game, so looking towards the Xbox version, we do want to release it on Xbox" Yoshida said.

"But when it comes to the specifics such as when the game would be available and such, we are not in a position to be able to share anything. But of course, I want to say that it’s not as if there’s zero hope, and we very much do want to achieve that. So, players should not give up in terms of their hopes."

Without an actual release date yet, the words of Yoshida-san should give some kind of hope to Xbox fans who've been salivating with hopes for the game's release. His saying that "it is not that there's zero hope" and that the company "very much do want to achieve" an Xbox release is a clear indication that Square Enix is bent on exploring possibilities to bring Final Fantasy 16 to the platform.

News that will doubtless come as a welcome relief to cold-shouldered Xbox fans, who-pretty much since it was announced-have been feeling left out in the cold regarding Final Fantasy 16. While many were hyped at its initial announcement, the omission of an Xbox release date had some believing there could be uncertainty about whether or not it'll grace the console.

The comments from Yoshida-san simply show that Square Enix cares about its fans and wants the game to reach an even wider audience. This is a good omen since exploring an Xbox release does mean something for the community, and all one can wish for is that the game will make it through.

The possible release of Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox is huge for a series of fans. It would not only bring one of the most highly anticipated titles onto the console but also show a deep commitment by Square Enix to its support.

Although a release date on Xbox is not certain for Final Fantasy 16, the prospects for the game are pretty bright. The title has caused quite a stir; first off, it received critical acclaim when it was released on PC and PlayStation 5.

While the gaming community is still abuzz with speculations over its release on Xbox, one thing is sure: Square Enix is keen on making the game as widely available as possible.
