Microsoft has revealed the first wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass. A total of six games will be added to the digital service, offering quite a variety to pick from.
If you're a sports fan, MLB The Show 24 will be available starting on October 2nd. The latest game in Sony San Diego's professional baseball series launched into Game Pass Ultimate in March, but now it will be available on the lower-priced Standard tier. Its arrival comes just in time for the beginning of Major League Baseball's playoffs.
Also arriving on Game Pass Standard on October 2nd is Open Roads. This is another game that debuted on Game Pass Ultimate back in March, but now it will be more widely available thanks to the lower-priced tier. Open Roads is an adventure mystery thriller published by Annapurna Interactive.
The game follows Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, as they embark on a road trip adventure to explore a series of long-abandoned family properties, unearthing the past. It features vocal performances by stars Keri Russell (The Americans, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker) as Opal and Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart, Uncharted 4) as Tess.
And finally, also coming on October 3rd to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard is Sifu, a third-person brawler breast 'em up developed by Sloclap. Featuring "tight Kung Fu combat mechanics and cinematic martial arts action," you play as a Pak Mei disciple seeking revenge on those responsible for their father's death.
Sifu isn't quite a roguelike, but it does have a unique death mechanic that see your character age up every time they are resurrected by the magical talisman. Each time you are resurrected, you gain more powerful attacks but lose some overall health. Eventually, the character becomes too old and can die permanently, at which point you'll need to restart the level from the beginning.
Next week will see two more games added to Xbox Game Pass. Mad Streets and Inscryption will be available for Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard on October 7th and October 10th, respectively. Mad Streets is a hilarious, physics-based, beat-em-up party game, while Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey blending elements from deckbuilding roguelikes, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horrors into one "blood-laced smooth."
While these are five games to look forward to, Xbox Game Pass recently added a batch of games from Tokyo Games Show. Available right now on the service are All You Need Is Help, Legend of Mana, Trials of Mana, and We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie.
