Back in 2019, former Gears of War developer, Cliff Bleszinski, announced that he was retiring from the gaming industry after multiple failures. His last game was called Radical Heights, a type of Battle Royale game that failed to gain a strong following.
Now, you might be wondering what Cliffy B is up to these days since he’s done with gaming, at least, for now. Well, according to a post from his Twitter account, Cliff is currently the co-producer of a Broadway show known as Hadestown.
We understand that this is both a musical and a love story, which is quite surprising. Who would have thought that Cliff Bleszinski will ever have his hands in a show about music and love? It would seem as if he has other qualities unknown to us.
Here’s the description of the show:
“HADESTOWN follows two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites audiences on an epic journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell’s beguiling melodies and Chavkin’s poetic imagination pit nature against the industry, faith against doubt, and love against fear. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers, and singers, HADESTOWN delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience.”
From what we can tell after reading several Tweets where this show is concerned, it would appear as if it’s a hit among fans. Even some critics are giving it raving reviews, so we can say that Cliffy B has finally found success, but it’s outside of the gaming circle, therefore, it might not matter to some.
You know, it’s quite ironic that Cliff was the man who introduced Fortnite to the world seven years ago. Now, he has taken himself out of the gaming equation and has decided to blame it on toxic gamers.
