Microsoft is giving Gears of War: E-Day its own hardware treatment. A limited-edition Xbox wireless controller themed around the game is on the way, alongside a new Xbox Design Lab skin created by heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece.
The official Gears of War: E-Day controller is priced at $90. Its design draws from the Emergence Day aesthetic, featuring cracked asphalt textures and the Crimson Omen that appears when a character is close to death in the series. The artwork is laser-etched into the surface. Additional details include blacked-out A, B, and Y buttons, a transparent red X button, matching red triggers, and a transparent D-pad. A metallic COG tag sits on the battery door.
Under the themed shell the controller is the standard Xbox wireless model first released with the Xbox Series X and Series S. It works across Xbox consoles, PC, smartphones, and tablets, retains the usual battery life, and keeps the same ergonomic shape that has remained in use since 2020.
