Yesterday was N7 Day, a celebration of all things Mass Effect. While the day was relatively quiet -- we, unfortunately, didn't get a new trailer for the new Mass Effect, we did at least get some artwork.
The new poster gives us a top-down shot of some sort of alien planet, specifically the location of an impact crater. We see a crew of four having exited the spacecraft to seemingly investigate the site.
Deeper analysis of the image suggests that the image seems to deliberately look like the head of a geth. There even looks like the debris in front of the crater to the slight right looks like a geth corpse.
Zooming in more closely on the crew, one of them appears to be a krogan. And the red armor has led people to believe it could be Wrex, suggesting the new Mass Effect will pick up from a canon in which Wrex survived the original trilogy.
This is all speculation, of course, but with no real details about the highly anticipated game or a trailer to go by, it's all fans can do. Another fun easter egg that fans noticed was the abbreviations on the ship, "SFX," which was the project codename for the original Mass Effect in 2003.
The new Mass Effect was announced back in December 2020. The initial teaser trailer strongly suggested that it would be a continuation of the franchise after the Mass Effect 3 story. Unfortunately, we still have no release date but if you're looking to experience the beloved sci-fi trilogy, it was recently re-released as the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.
