In less then 3 weeks, BioWare's epic sci-fi roleplaying game, Mass Effect, has sold more then 1 million copies worldwide. Apparently three times as many copies as some industry-watchers anticipated.

Mass Effect is the first title in a planned trilogy. BioWare was purchased earlier this year by Electronic Arts, which may complicate the issue of who publishes the next titles, as well as wether or not the game will remain an Xbox 360 exclusive title. Microsoft was the publisher behind Mass Effect.
