Battlefield 1 is getting a very cool and interesting DLC tomorrow that will involve a new multiplayer map, as well as a new weapon. The map being released tomorrow has been titled "Giant's Shadow". The map has a crashed airship located in it, and a river way and the Cateau-Wassigny railway are other notable landmarks that help comprise this map. Tomorrow the map/update is available for pass holders, but it will then be available for all players on December 20th.
The update also sees the introduction of a new support class tool, the grenade crossbow. It's basically what the name implies it is: a crossbow that allows you to shoot grenades. This new weapon is going to come in handy for a lot of players dedicated to the support roll but who also want to have extensive kill streaks. A new game mode is going to be released in this update where each faction only has access to their faction's standard issue rifle. The name of this game mode is, you guessed it, Standard Issue Rifles.
The final new addition to come with this update is the ability to join a session taking place and only a spectator. Spectators will be able to switch between first and third-person cameras, as well as move their camera across the map freely so that they can see any and all the action that is available for players to see.
This update also comes with some tweaks to current weapons and tools that already exist in the game, which you can see the full details regarding that on the game's official forum.
