The Xbox One S, the console Microsoft is touting as the most powerful gaming system ever created is being marketed as a blu-ray player in Japan. At this point, nearly every gamer is aware of the fact that the Xbox One has essentially lost the Japanese market, a fact hammered home by the fact that a recent sales chart revealed that ~45k Nintendo Switches were sold last week, in comparison to ~18k PS4's and just 63 X Box One consoles.
The above ad was displayed in Tokyo's Bic Camera, a leading electronics chain.
At the top, the large text translates, “Super Cheap!!” while the smaller text at the bottom reads, “If it’s Xbox One S, you can also play video games.” The ¥29,970 price tag converts to about $271.17 USD which actually costs more than the US retailer price for the Minecraft bundle ($249.99).
