Sony's PlayStation 5 has been quite the mystery since the company first confirmed that they were, indeed, working on their next-gen console. In fact, a special presentation that would reveal new information about the console was supposed to be streamed today, but it was cancelled due to the protests in the United States.
In April of this year, however, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 5's controller was being renamed to DualSense. This new controller is said to provide players with an even more immersive experience than the DualShock ever did, so it ws definitely news that kept fans excited for the console.
Today some new information about the PlayStation 5's has been revealed, as Sony recently filed a new patent that gives us our best look yet at the piece of hardware the developers have been working with to develop games for the highly anticipated console.
As per the new patent, we can see that the developer's kit features a total of 6 fans on the sides of the console(three on each side), and a heat sink on theleft side of the console's V-shaped cover. For reference, the PlayStation 4 has only got one fan to keep things at an appropriate temperature.
We have already seen the V-shaped developer's kit in the past, but now that we get to see this new patent, we are actually inclined to believe that the PlayStation 5 may end up looking like the dev's kit — albeit a tad more polished, of course.
Today's cancelled presentation has yet to be given an official release date, so we will have to keep waiting a little bit longer to finally see the PlayStation 5 being unveiled. In the meantime, check out one of the images from Sony's recently filed patent down below.
