Yakuza: Like a Dragon — the eight entry in the Yakuza series if we include Yakuza 0 — is still a few months away from finally becoming available here in the West, and Sega and developer Ryū ga Gotoku have recently been sharing a bunch of new inforamtion about the upcoming title.
One of the main reasons why fans of the Yakuza series are so excited to finally play this game is new main protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, who has been described almost as a polar opposite to former series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon Director Toshihiro Nagoshi has previously mentioned that this game will also be introducing a brand-new turn-based combat system, and this is actually another reason why fans are curious to see how the studio pulls it off.
Given the game's new RPG nature, players will also get to play as side characters during fights, and this is where things get more interesting, since Yakuza: Like a Dragon will focus more on these side characters than in previous entries.
Just recently Sega revealed the full list of actors that will be voicing the game's English dub. So far, we have been introduced to George Takei's Masumi Arakawa, Keiji Tang's Ichiban Kasuga, and Elizabeth Maxwell's Saeko Mukouda.
Today, Sega has released a new behind the scenes video that sees actor Greg Chun introducing us to Yu Nanba — the character he will be playing, and one of Ichiban Kasuga's allies — and revealing some interesting details about him.
Interestingly enough, this isn't Chun's first rodeo in the Yakuza series, as he also voiced the main character in Ryū ga Gotoku's Judgment; a game set in the same universe of Yakuza.
Give it a watch:
Become Ichiban Kasuga, a low-ranking yakuza grunt left on the brink of death by the man he trusted most. Take up your legendary bat and get ready to crack some underworld skulls in dynamic RPG combat set against the backdrop of modern-day Japan.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Windows 10 in November; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X release dates yet to be determined.
