It seems we'll have to wait a bit longer before we set amongst the stars as Bethesda announced the delay of Starfield. The highly anticipated sci-fi role-playing game, which sees players embark on an epic journey to answer humanity's greatest mystery, was originally slated to release this November. However, it has now been pushed back to the first half of 2023.

Bethesda also announced the delay of another one of its games, Arkane Austin's Redfall. Due out this summer, Redfall will now also release in the first half of 2023.

Bethesda didn't give a reason for the delays, just the typical PR fluff about wanting to deliver the best possible version.

On the bright side, it seems we'll at least get to see gameplay for both Starfield and Redfall soon. With the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase taking place next month on June 12, it's possible both games will be featured at the event.

Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, creators of the award-winning games The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. There's incredible hype for the game despite us not having seen any actual gameplay footage. Redfall is an open-world co-op FPS from the studio behind Prey and Dishonored.
