INDIANA JONES Game In Development At Bethesda's MachineGames; Check Out The First Teaser
Bethesda's MachineGames, the studio behind the Wolfenstein franchise, is working on an Indiana Jones game in collaboration with the newly branded Lucasfilm Games.
Lucasfilm Games was only just formally introduced yesterday and we're already seeing some of the big things come from it. While we figured Star Wars would be the main focus, it appears other properties will be getting the video games treatment -- namely, Indiana Jones.
Video game publisher Bethesda Softworks announced that its studio MachineGames, the developer behind the hit Wolfenstein franchise, is currently working on an Indiana Jones game. Details are still thin at the moment, but we do know it will feature an original story.
A very brief teaser accompanied the announcement but didn't reveal much. We did get to see Indy's iconic fedora and whip, however, which is enough to give any fan of the franchise goosebumps.
The new Indiana Jones game is being developed at MachineGames in collaboration with the newly formed Lucasfilm Games. Todd Howard, game director of Fallout 4 and executive producer of the more recent Fallout 76, is on board as executive producer.
Unfortunately, it may be quite some time before we hear more about this game as Bethesda acknowledged it's still very early in development.
While this announcement is exciting, there are still some details that need to be ironed out. Most notably, what platforms will this game be available on? While Bethesda is traditionally a multiplatform publisher, Microsoft recently acquired the company which means there's a possibility this Indiana Jones game could be exclusive to Xbox (and maybe Windows).
