Aside from the intense competition taking place on stage, the EVO 2017 Championship Fighting series saw a surprising number of reveals.

Future Trunks debuted for Dragon Ball FighterZ, Geese Howard (from Fatal Fury) was announced for Tekken 7 and Jedah (from Darkstalkers) was revealed for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.  Abigail from Final Fight was also revealed as an upcoming DLC character for Street Fighter V but that announcement was met with mostly boos.

This year is looking to be no different, if Mark Julio, EVO's Global Business Developer is to be believed.  He teased something similar in 2017 and the tournament definitely didn't disappoint. Fighting game fans are already speculating on what will be announced.

EVO 2018's lineup includes (in order of entry numbers):
  1. Dragon Ball FighterZ
  2. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
  3. Tekken 7
  4. Super Smash Bros. Melee
  5. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  6. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
  7. Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
  8. Injustice 2
The EVO 2018 Championship Series kicks off this Thursday in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.  It concludes on Sunday.  Surprise announcements are expected to be revealed on that day.
