The Akatsuki are back in fashion. Team Liquid's new collection inspired by Naruto Shippuden and its infamous group of rogue ninja is available today, and it is packed with nods to some of the most popular villains in anime.
We covered the first teasers for the collection earlier this week, when Team Liquid confirmed the launch and promised gear built "to withstand the heavy rain and the flames of hatred." Now that the full lineup has been revealed, it is clear that the Uchiha clan is front and center.
Itachi Steals The Spotlight
It should surprise no one that Itachi Uchiha is the star of the show. One of the black oversized tees features red line art of Itachi stretching across the back, giving it a subtle look from the front with a big payoff from behind. A charcoal washed tee also features a large graphic panel on the back.
Itachi also appears on one of the desk mats, standing against a backdrop of red crows, a fitting callback to the crow imagery that follows him throughout the series and plays a big role in his story.
The Uchiha crest makes its way onto a black jacket as well, printed on the hood, with a red lining inside that hints at the Akatsuki's signature colors. It is one of the more wearable pieces in the drop, especially for fans who want something that is a little less loud.
Madara, Pain And The Rest Of The Akatsuki
Itachi is not the only villain getting attention. One desk mat is dedicated to Madara Uchiha, featuring his name written in Japanese next to a swirling design that will instantly remind fans of the masked figure who spent much of Shippuden pulling strings from the shadows.
One of the two keyboards in the collection is covered in keycap art of Akatsuki members, with Pain and other members of the group lined up across the keys. A third desk mat uses a dark purple palette with a pair of outstretched hands.
For fans who want the full Akatsuki look, the collection's racing jacket is covered in the group's red clouds and paired with matching black joggers. It is a bold piece that blends the organization's cloak design with a motorsport aesthetic.
Something For Team Naruto Too
Fans who would rather rep the heroes are not left out. A set of six tumblers includes designs featuring Naruto and Sasuke alongside other characters, plus a tumbler wrapped in the Akatsuki cloud pattern. A blue tee with character line art on the back and a cream hoodie with an eye-themed graphic on the chest round out the apparel side.
The collection is available through the official Team Liquid store, where fans can check pricing and sizes for each piece.
Why The Akatsuki Still Matter
Nearly a decade after Naruto Shippuden wrapped up its anime run, the Akatsuki remain one of the most recognizable villain groups in anime. Their black cloaks with red clouds are a staple at conventions, and characters like Itachi, Pain and Madara continue to top popularity polls and fan discussions.
Team Liquid clearly knows this. The organization released its first Akatsuki collection back in 2021, which included pieces like an Itachi packable tech jacket and a Zetsu long sleeve. The new drop builds on that with more streetwear, more desk gear and a deeper dive into the Uchiha side of the story.
The Naruto franchise also continues to stay active, with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex carrying the story forward in manga form, which helps keep the original series and its villains in the spotlight for a new generation of fans.
Which Akatsuki member deserves their own item in the next collection, or would you rather see Team Liquid focus on the heroes of the Hidden Leaf?
