Back in December, Motion Twin developer Sebastian Bernard said that Dead Cells wouldn't be getting any sequels as the studio values bringing fresh ideas to life more than anything. While a sequel to Dead Cells is currently not in the cards, it doesn't necessarily mean that Motion Twin won't support their rogue-lite indie phenomenon with quality content – like the upcoming Rise of the Giant expansion.

Dead Cells - Rise of the Giant is a completely free DLC with a bunch of brand new content, "mostly aimed at the people who have been hanging around since day 1, it’s high level and should offer more challenge than most sane people would think reasonable." Giant will feature 10 new enemies, 13 new weapons, and some much-desired upgrades to core game systems, including the rebalanced difficulty.

To play Rise of the Giant, you need to own the base version of Dead Cells. The expansion will hit the PC on March 28th, but the content should be also available for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch soon.

Dead Cells is a rogue-lite, metroidvania inspired, action-platformer. You'll explore a sprawling, ever-changing castle... assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers in 2D souls-lite combat. No checkpoints. Kill, die, learn, repeat.

Dead Cells is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch NOW!
