Stardew Valley, the incredibly popular farming simulator role-playing game, is still going strong after seven years. In fact, it seems we're on the verge of a whole new update.
Created by an independent developer by the name of Eric Barone, perhaps better known by his online alias "ConcernedApe," Stardew Valley has the player take on the role of a character who has inherited their grandfather's rundown farm and aims to turn over a new leaf for both themselves and the farm itself. Players can grow crops, raise livestock, fish, mine, and socialise with the townspeople. You can even foster a family.
Back in April, ConcernedApe announced that he would be postponing development of his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, in order to work on Stardew Valley's 1.6 update. Previously, ConcernedApe has stated that the 1.6 update will largely be for the sake of modders, allowing for much easier implementation of more powerful mods. However, the update will also feature some new content for regular players.
Today, ConcernedApe took to social media to tease some of the things that will be coming to Stardew Valley in the games forthcoming update, those being a new festival, some new items, more dialogues, secrets, and something that seems significant but is left mysterious. Given the update, we can only assume that the 1.6 update is right around the corner, almost certainly within 2023 at the very least. Stay posted!
