The developers at InnerSloth have had quite a busy year. Not only have they created the highly entertaining and successful game, Among Us, but they have also finally crossed over into the world of console gaming by releasing the game on the Nintendo Switch. The game has been so successful that the team even canceled its sequel to focus on perfecting the main title.
The sci-fi murder mystery game may seem simple and lighthearted at first, but the main goal of the game is both more sinister and even more hilarious. As players complete tasks in their in-game job, there are imposters among them. These imposters are tasked with killing other players, and once a body is found, everyone must discuss among themselves who the killer may be (notice how the word "among" is so abundant)?
The game gives a very Lord of the Flies style of conviction and punishment and gives an entertaining look at the human condition while also letting us be our best Sherlock Holmes. A recent report was released that has revealed that the massive spike in popularity has given the game almost half a billion players in this year alone!
With the sky being the limit for the game and its creators, could this mean more console ports? Maybe updates? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Among Us is a murder mystery game that can take place either in a spaceship named "The Skeld," the headquarters of the company MIRA, or a research base on the planet Polus. Among the players, one to three will be randomly chosen as Impostors, who need to blend in and kill the Crewmates.
Among Us is available to play on smartphones, PC, and Nintendo Switch!
