Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, Inti Creates' brand-new 2D platformer and spin-off to their Azure Striker Gunvolt series, has just released today for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC(Steam).

Players who have already had the chance to play any of the titles in the Azure Striker Gunvolt series will feel right at home playing Luminous Avenger iX; some may even be familiar with Copen — the main character in the recently released title who was one of the antagonists in the series he stems from.

In order to celebrate the release of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, Inti Creates has released a new wallpaper by Azure Striker Gunvolt series illustrator Yoshitaka Hatakeyama — as they also reveal that this new illustration is available on the Gunvolt website in both 1920x1080 and 1600x1200 sizes.

Take a look:

Since its inception, the Gunvolt series has become known among fans for its high-speed, stylish 2D action. This game will see series rival/anti-hero Copen take the lead and push the series’ speed and intensity to the next level, all the while keeping the game accessible to new fans.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX is available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam today.
