According to Venture Beat, the average mobile gamer in Japan is spending about $30 USD a month on the country's top 30 mobile games.
Pokemon Go alone commands roughly 5+ million active users a month and it's not even among the top 5 titles, currently ranking #7. These numbers are up from just 2 years ago, when cell phone gamers in Japan were only spending about $16/month across the top 30 mobile games.
Coming in second was China, where that country's top 30 mobile games were averaging just under $25 ARPU (Average Revenue Per User). However, China has a current population of 1.357 billion, whereas Japan's population is declining and currently sits at 127.3 million.
Rounding out the top 3, was the US, where there was a steep drop off at roughly $13 ARPU.
