Spinda, #327 from Generation 3, is a spotted panda-type Pokemon and is finally in the game! Its a normal type that doesn't have any other evolutions, and won't be very strong, but is quite popular for being one of the cuter pokemon of this generation, and for its dizzying personality.
With the server-side update that went live today at 1 PM PDT, trainers were also able to unlock the Generation 2 Legendary Lightning Beast Pokemon, Raikou (#243). This Pokemon is still currently part of the meta, based on being one of the strongest electric-types currently in the game. Also added in this update, the shiny releases for both evolution chains of Houndour (#228), and Snubbell (#209), both of which are Generation 2 Pokemon. Their second evolutions, Houndoom (#229) and Granbull (#210) will also be shiny. Both of which, are also rewards for this months field research daily tasks. The regular versions are seen in the image below on the left, with their shiny evolutions on the right:
