Gamers who have spent time playing the Nintendo Switch juggernaut titles Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are well aware of the most recent regional addition to the Pokédex -- the Galar region. Inspired by the United Kingdom, the game saw unrivaled success with sales numbers in that area, as to be expected.
Many of the new creatures that debuted in the game were similar to the Alolan Pokémon in the fact that there were new versions of existing creatures, albeit with all new typing and looks to go along with them. When the game initially launched, one creature, in particular, was released in the mobile title Pokémon Go to help promote it -- Galarian Weezing. Up until now, this has been the only creature from the new titles to be introduced to the game, but that all changed today.
In order to make room for the new creatures which belong in the previously unreleased Galarian Pokédex, a new section has been added all together. This is odd in the fact that it is premiering even before Kalos and Alola, two locations that debuted prior to the Pokémon Sword and Shield region.
The new additions to the mobile game are Galarian Meowth, Galarian Darumaka, Galarian Stunfisk, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Linoone, Perrserker, and Obstagoon, though the only two that belong in the new Pokédex are the all-new creatures Obstagoon and Perrserker, as the rest are simply new versions of existing pocket monsters.
Take a look at the images below which feature Perrserker, both close-up and in the newly added Galarian section of the Pokédex.
