Upon releasing in July of 2016, Niantic's
Pokémon GO became one of the most popular video game apps for mobile phones; becoming something that no one could have ever seen coming.
Just last year, Niantic finally introduced the long-awaited Trainer Battles to
Pokémon GO — which is something that players had been asking for pretty much since the game launched — giving fans of the Pokémon-catching game more reasons to start playing again.
We also found out that
The Pokémon Company was very pleased with Pokémon GO's performance, and now we have even more great news, as it's been revealed that the game has managed to make a whopping $2.5 millions in revenue worldwide.
The news comes from Sensor Tower, who have shared data from their Store Intelligence; revealing that
Pokémon GO has been grossing around $78 million per month since July of last year; since the game's second anniversary. Sensor Tower's estimates reveal that
Pokémon GO has been grossing almost $205 million, so far, during Q1 of this year.
According to the data collected by the Store Intelligence, the number one market for
Pokémon GO is the United States, being closely followed by Japan and Germany; each accounting for 35, 29, and 6 percent of the total revenue, respectively — proving that
Pokémon GO isn't going anywhere any time soon.
