Probopass And Magnezone Join POKÉMON GO - But Getting Them Comes At A Cost

Pokémon GO isn't a game that usually requires in-game purchases in order to catch specific Pokémon, but that seems to have changed in the case of Magnezone and Probopass, at least for now. Read on for more!

Niantic recently introduced new Lure Modules into their popular augmented reality mobile game, Pokémon GO for the first time. There are Mossy Lures, Glacial Lures, and Magnetic Lures, with the latter proving to be the most frustrating for trainers.

These Lures introduced new aspects to the game, as for the first time there are more than one option for placing lures, and they attract different Pokémon types depending on which Lure you are using. The problem is, however, that each lure is coupled with a Pokémon or two that can only be gotten through evolving inside an active Lure module on a Pokéstop.

Initially the Mossy Lure was the only way to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon, and the Glacial Lure was the only way to evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, but Niantic included the same naming trick for those Pokémon as they did for the previous Eevee-lutions in the earlier Generations.

Magnezone and Probopass, however, didn't get so lucky. These two Pokémon can only be obtained if you evolve a Magnemite and a Nosepass in range of a Magnetic Lure, and you'll have to have the required amount of candy. The problem is that the only way to obtain these special Lure Modules currently is through the shop. Costing 200 coins, a seasoned Trainer could max out Gym Defending for four days and not spend any real life money, but the play style isn't the same for all Trainers, with some more interested in simply capturing Pokémon.

Niantic will likely make Special Research Tasks in which these can be earned, but for now its going to be a bit more difficult than usual to capture the latest additions.
