Warner Bros. IE and Niantic, Inc. established cooperation to hopefully repeat the massive success of last year's
Pokémon Go. If you somehow never heard about that global phenomenon,
Go! is an augmented reality (or shortly AR) game that changed your smartphone into a poké ball allowing the player to catch, and later level up these extraordinary animals using your very own pokédex.
The newest Niantic's game will introduce players all around the world to the magical world created by J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will use the developer's AR + real-world mobile game platform to allow gamers to become wizards and witches wherever they are.
"We are allowing the passionate, worldwide fan base to experience J.K. Rowling’s deeply powerful and imaginative universe in a new, truly immersive way. It is wonderful to have Niantic’s remarkable augmented reality expertise as we develop this incredibly rich wizarding world for players to explore in their everyday lives," said David Haddad, President of WB. Interactive Entertainment.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be released in 2018.
