Niantic Labs teased today that Pokemon GO's long-awaited player versus player feature will be coming to the game soon. Taking to social media, the developer posted some teaser images while sharing an exclusive sneak peek look into Trainer Battles.

Through a series of tweets, Niantic explained that Trainer Battles will introduce three Pokemon GO Trainer Battle Leagues that are determined based on the CP limit per Pokemon. The Great League has a 1,500 CP limit, while the Ultra League has a 2,500 limit. The Master League has no CP limit per Pokemon.

In a follow-up tweet, Niantic noted: "When designing Trainer Battles, we wanted to create an experience that everyone can enjoy and ensure that different kinds of Pokémon can show their strengths! With Leagues in Trainer Battles, we hope to create a system that’s accessible to many Trainers."

Niantic aims to accomplish this through the Leagues. Whereas Pokemon with high CP will likely have an advantage in Master League battle,s the specific CP limitations of the Great and Ultra Leagues means that trainers will have to think "more strategically" in those leagues.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of Pokemon GO's Trainer Battles, but stay tuned as Niantic promises to reveal more information soon.
