After two and a half years Niantic finally announced this past weekend that the long-awaited Trainer Battles would be introduced in
Pokémon GO, although not that many details about the battle system itself was shared.
Today, and thanks to the people over at IGN, we have a brand-new video that shows us exactly what has been added to the game in terms of battles, and how these differ or coincide with the battle system currently available in
Pokémon GO.
The video mentions that players will have to access the Nearby Radar and scan the other player's QR code, only to then pick Great(1.500 CP), Ultra(2.500 CP), or Master League(10.000 CP). Once everything is set, the battle actually plays out the same way a Gym battle does, by having players tapping buttons in order to have their Pokémon attack their opponents, and even some new other moves new to Battle Trainer.

With Pokémon GO, you'll discover Pokémon in a whole new world—your own! Pokémon GO gives you the chance to explore real locations and search far and wide for Pokémon.
