Diablo Immortal has been a disaster ever since it was announced a couple of days ago at this year's BlizzCon. The reason for this being that the company hyped up a huge announcement and fans were expecting the long awaited Diablo 4, which was not only not announced but replaced with Diablo Immortal, a mobile game that no one was expecting or wanting.

In the midst of all the controversy, IGN reached out to Blizzard for further clarification and the developer replied saying that they are definitely listening to the Diablo community, but they were not planning on announcing Diablo 4 this year. This comes from a rumor that alleged that Blizzard was going to announce Diablo 4 during this BlizzCon but decided to cancel the announcement prior to the convention.

"First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right", said the Blizzard spokesperson when asked about the multiple Diablo projects that the developer has going on at the moment.

Whether this comment by the Blizzard representative is true or not, it should still be taken as a certainty by the Diablo community. This is their word against the players', so it is very likely that they never intended to announce Diablo 4 any way. The problem with this is not how Blizzard chose not to reveal a new entry in the series, but the fact that they announced a mobile game as the highlight of the entire showcase, when players were expecting a huge announcement and they got a mobile game instead.

Hopefully Blizzard does have some legitimate plans for the franchise and are, indeed, working on a new entry but, as of now, the community is still not happy with the way the company has dealt with this whole debacle and Blizzard will likely have to make amends for their actions, or they're going to end up alienating even more of their Diablo fans before they even make a real announcement about Diablo 4.

Enter the world of Diablo Immortal, a new entry in the Diablo universe. Taking place between the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, this mobile massively multiplayer online ARPG is a true Diablo hack-and-slash adventure, all in the palm of your hand.

Diablo Immortal will be available for Android and iOS in 2019.
