Pokemon: Detective Pikachu finally released in theatres a couple of weeks back. It would be the first live-action film in the
Pokemon franchise and introduce us to a world of the beloved creatures, all of which have been impressively redesigned to match the live-action setting. While many believed that
Detective Pikachu would succeed, it's undoubtable they would've expected it to do so quite as much as it has.
Avengers: Endgame's only released a short amount of time before
Detective Pikachu and thus people thought the latter might be overshadowed by Marvel's big finale. This wasn't the case, however, as
Detective Pikachu has soared at the box office. The live-action
Pokemon film recently reached the $100 million mark at the domestic box office. It's therefore the tenth film to reach that point this year.
Box Office Mojo recently repoted their estimations that thus far
Detective Pikachu has earned $116 million domestically and $246 million outside of the US. These sums together would amount to $352.9 million, which would therefore be
Detective Pikachu's worldwide total so far.
