After a dazzling SDCC trailer, readers of the Ernest Cline's celebrated pop culture novel were anxiously awaiting their first look at Olivia Cooke's Art3mis.
Take your first up close look at Olivia Cooke's Art3mis in this first official still from Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. The first trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi adaptation revealed quite a few changes from Cline's novel so it will be interesting to see whether Art3mis and Parzival have the same relationship.
The still appears to be from a scene taking place in Aerch's hangout spot, The Basement, which was designed to look like an '80s rec room. At a later point in the novel, The Basement becomes the preferred meeting space for the High Five, the group Parzival forms to combat the vast reach and resources utilized by Innovative Online Industries (IOI) in their quest to gain control of the OASIS.
In 2045, the planet is on the brink of chaos and collapse, but people find salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by James Halliday. When Halliday dies, he promises his immense fortune to the first person to discover a digital Easter egg that's hidden somewhere in the OASIS. When young Wade Watts joins the contest, he finds himself becoming an unlikely hero in a reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical world of mystery, discovery and danger.
