Last week we found out that a Taiwanese video game ratings board had listed Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and that the game would be published by Activision and developed by Toys For Bob; neither companies made any comments on the matter, however.
The same day this information was leaked, Toys For Bob shared a tweet stating that their next game will be officially revealed on Monday the 22nd of June, although they wouldn't say what game it was; of course, we already knew that it was a new entry in the Crash Bandicoot series.
Today Activision has officially made the announcement, as Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time(you're damn right it's about wumping time) will be launching for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 2nd of October — which is probably the most surprising aspect of the whole announcement.
The announcement trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time also confirms what the synopsis on the Taiwanese website said, as this game will be picking up right after the events of Crash Bandicoot: Warped — meaning that this will be the true Crash Bandicoot sequel that fans had been waiting for all of these years.
As revealed by Activision, this new game's story will see Neo Cortex and N. Tropy accidentally fracturing the boundaries of space and time in a successful attempt at escaping their interdimensional prison, and of course it is up to Crash and his sister Coco to stop their evil plans.
Activision also reveals that Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be featuring some new playable characters, brand-new abilities, alternate dimensions, some ridonkulous bosses like the ones we've seen in the past, and jorts; because, why not?
Check it out:
Picking up where the original trilogy left off, Neo Cortex and DR. Nefarious Tropy have escaped their interdimensional prison and in doing so have fractured the boundaries of time and space. It's up to Crash and Coco to save the day.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 2nd of October.
