According to Frogwares,
The Sinking City is the biggest thing the ambitious Ukrainian development studio has ever done. Given that they are responsible for eight critically acclaimed video games starring
Sherlock Holmes, Dracula: Origin, and
Magrunner: Dark Pulse, the expectations are fairly high.
Judging from over 20 minutes of all-new gameplay footage from
The Sinking City, that you can watch in two videos down below, Frogwares' upcoming psychological thriller might very well live up to its intriguing premise. In
The Sinking City, you play as a determined detective who's trying to solve the mystery of endless floods that have recently been driving the citizens of Oakmont Massachusetts crazy.
As you've probably already guessed, the disturbing video game is heavily inspired by the novels of H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos, so it will be interesting to see if
The Sinking City is as good, or maybe even better than last year's
Call of Cthulhu, a title that was originally in the works at Frogwares.
Without further ado, be sure to take a look at the dangerous world of
The Sinking City down below:
The Sinking City is a game of investigation and mystery taking place in a fictional open world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The player steps into the shoes of a 1920s private investigator who finds himself in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts, New England. A city suffering from unprecedented floods of clearly supernatural origins, a city trembling on the brink of madness.
The Sinking City is coming to PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One on June 27, 2019.
