You've seen countless LEGO videogames such as
LEGO Worlds,
LEGO DC Super-Villains, and the upcoming
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Now it's time to flip the script and see a video game turned into LEGO.
Earlier this week, Nintendo released a teaser trailer for an upcoming announcement —
check that out here. Whereas that teaser essentially only revealed a LEGO version of gaming's most iconic plumber; this new reveal trailer shows off the entire LEGO
Super Mario toyline.
In true Nintendo fashion; a traditional minifigure dressed up as Mario doesn't quite cut it. Instead, they're innovating. LEGO Mario features some pixelated displays and sensors which make for a very interactive LEGO set. Akin to
Super Mario Maker; with the new
LEGO Super Mario sets, you'll be able to build your own
Super Mario levels and playthrough them with the techy Mario figure.
Takashi Tezuka, executive officer and game producer at Nintendo explains;
"The new product we created together with the LEGO Group seeks to combine two different styles of play. One where you freely build the world of Mario and the other where you play with Mario in the very world that you have created."
Julia Goldin of The Lego Group adds (via
Engadget);
"By seamlessly incorporating the latest digital technology, LEGO Super Mario is a highly social, interactive and collaborative experience for kids." The new reveal trailer shows off the LEGO set in action — check it out below (via
