It Sounds Like RED DEAD REDEMPTION Is The Latest Game To Get A Remastered Version

While there are a lot of great original games on the way over the next few years, it seems like just as many old releases are coming which have been given an HD makeover. Is Red Dead Redemption up next?

Following this year's E3, there was a lot of talk that Sony had originally planned to end their panel by revealing plans for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4. Whether or not there was any truth to that isn't clear, though some outlets claimed that the then recent shooting in Orlando was why they kept it under wraps. Given the other shooters shown at the event, that didn't make much sense!

Either way, Red Dead Redemption fans are still keen to see another collaboration between Sony and Rockstar, but it sounds like they'll have to make do with a remastered version of the first instalment.

The plan apparently is to announce a remastered edition for PS4, Xbox One, and the PC later this week. The game would be released early next year, and while a sequel remains unconfirmed, this would serve as a nice precursor to that. HD remasters are becoming more and more popular with BioShock and Assassin's Creed among those which have had older chapters released on current gen consoles.
