Bandai Namco has shared yet another behind the scenes for the upcoming Scarlet Nexus, and this time around the developers sit down to talk about the game's futuristic-looking, and technologically advanced world; revealing a bunch of interesting details for players to get excited about.
Last time, the developers revealed some details about the concept of Scarlet Nexus itself, the etimology of the name, and how this is reflected with the art style. If you haven't already, be sure to give the first developers diary a watch by clicking right here.
Scarlet Nexus will be taking place in a country called New himuka, which the developers describe as a country so big that the concept of "overseas" doesn't exist here, and that they have taken some elements from the '90s to give this country its peculir aesthetic, while still keeping it looking futuristic.
The developers also mention that characters in the game are all connected by their brains, and this is actually what Scarlet Nexus revolves around; from the link the characters have to the technological advances that surround this concept of neural connections. In fact, Art Director Kouta Ochiai describes the game as a "Brainpunk" title.
"The fact that every brain is connected leads to a troubling issue that will be a big part of the storytelling, which we hope players will look forward to," reveals Scarlet Nexus Game Director Kenji Anabuki.

In a far distant future, a psionic hormone was discovered in the human brain, granting people extra-sensory powers and changing the world as we know it. Just as humanity was entering this new era, deranged mutants known as Others began to descend from the sky with a thirst for human brains. Highly resistant to conventional attack methods, extreme measures needed to be taken to battle the overwhelming threat and preserve humanity.
Scarlet Nexus still doesn't have an official release date, but is expected to launch for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
