As one of Bandai Namco's new intellectual properties revealed earlier this year, Scarlet Nexus still has players wondering exactly what the game will be about, although the developers have already revealed that it is an action-adventure where players will be taking control of characters with amazing psycho-kinetic abilities.
The announcement trailer for Scarlet Nexus gave players a pretty good idea of what to expect from the game from a gameplay standpoint, and while the game still hasn't been given an official release date, there are those who are already, and eagerly anticipating its release.
As it turns out, the name of the game does make allusion to one of the main gameplay mechanics, as Scarlet Nexus is the link between the game's characters and their teammates when they borrow their special abilities. Director Kenji Anabuki actually describes this link as "red tubes stabbed into the character's back."
Furthermore, Scarlet Nexus' literal meaning is "red connection," and that's exactly what the developers have tried to convey when designing these psycho-kinesis-controlling characters. "The visual expression of 'objects or persons connected with red lines' represents a big part in the visuals and key art of Scarlet Nexus," revealed Producer Keita Iizuka in a recent behind the scenes video.
Art Director Kouta Ochiai reveals that "When we started making the game, we wanted to show off the concept of 'kizuna'(bonds) in different ways. That's why we also used expressions such as 'red strings,' 'lines that connect you with your buddies.'"
The developers at Bandai Namco have yet to give us an official release date for Scarlet Nexus, but everything they have shown so far looks simply phenomenal. We'll just have to patiently wait until they finally reveal when the game will be launching.
