A Newbie Game Dev Has Perfectly Recreated The Playable Teaser For Hideo Kojima's Cancelled SILENT HILLS Game
A 17-year-old game developer recently revealed their attempt to remake Hideo Kojima's short-lived masterpiece P.T.. While it's not quite on par with the original, the recreation is certainly a sight to behold.
Believe it or not, it has been four years since P.T. debuted in the Playstation Store and it was revealed that Konami and Hideo Kojima were working on a game titled Silent Hills.
The planned horror game's renowned cancellation made its "playable teaser" just as renowned. After P.T. was removed from the store, consoles which had the terrifying demo installed were selling for thousands of dollars on Ebay.
With such a cult following, despite never seeing the light of day, fans Silent Hills fans have been hard at work trying to recapture the horror that was P.T. and a rookie game developer recently debuted the best one yet. PT for PC, as the 17-year-old dev named it, was revealed to the world a couple of days ago via a Reddit post to the Silent Hill subreddit.
Within the Reddit thread Qimsar revealed that, before starting work on the impressive project, they only had six hours of experience with the Unreal Engine to their name.
In total, I've spent about 140 hours on this and on the way, I've had to force myself to learn how to do a ton of things. Also, I'm 17 so if that adds any to my street cred, then there it is.
The newbie developer's admirable remake is a 1GB download and available on Game Jolt, and it's good. What do you think about Qimsar's remake? Does it live up to its predecessor?
A video of the remake quickly attained thousands of views since being uploaded days ago - check it out below:
