Ahead of next week's launch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, developer Super Evil Megacorp announced that the roguelike action game game will also be coming to PC. While no release date was announced, it will be available through Steam later this year.
Super Evil Megacorp has still not announced if the game wlil be comign to PlayStation or Xbox consoles, although the game is billed as a timed console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. This leaves open the possibility of a PlayStation or Xbox release after a period of time.
In addition to the upcoming PC release, Super Evil Megacorp also revealed a brand new feature for the Nintendo Switch version: four-player couch co-op.
“We’ve been listening to the community and their biggest request has been the addition of couch co-op so they can play with friends and family,” said Ian Fielding, Studio Head of Super Evil Megacorp. “Playing together is embedded in the DNA of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video games and core to SEMC’s mission, and with Splintered Fate, we went the extra mile to ensure the co-op feature was available for the Switch immediately at launch. We will continue to listen to the community and improve the game overtime based on player feedback.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is a roguelike action-adventure game that follows Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo thorugh reality-bending portals to rescue their kidnapped master, Splinter. Each of the four playable turtles has their signature weapons, unique abilities, and combat style, as well as customization options to further specialize their moveset.
Featuring Super Evil’s unique, fluid combat style mixed with strategic and surprising roguelike gameplay, the result is a fresh Turtles experience with scores of replayability. The game features fast-flowing combat, a diverse build system that will allow players to build the elemental infused Teenage Turtle of their dreams, bodacious co-op capabilities, and improved visual design, graphics and audio quality. Set across four unique New York City environments, the game keeps TMNT fans enthralled from start to finish, as players encounter familiar allies, tons of easter eggs and references across collectibles and narrative, and encounters with iconic bosses including, of course, the mutant duo Bebop and Rocksteady and archenemy Shredder.
The game was originally released for iOS devices through the Apple Arcade where it received critical acclaim, including more than 22,000 perfect player reviews. With the Nintendo Switch version, players can expect graphical enhancements, better lighting and additional props for a richer environment, and improved sound and controls. These same improvements could be even more noticable on PC when it arrives later this year.
