In April of this year Ubisoft surprised Assassin's Creed fans by revealing that they were currently working on a new entry in the long-running, and critically acclaimed series in the form of Assassin's Creed Valhalla; a game set during the Viking era and that would see players taking control of a Viking warrior named Eivor.
While excitement was through the roof after the announcement was made, the developers at Ubisoft have managed to keep players anticipating the release, and getting more excited for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, as they confirmed that this new title would be putting a focus on stealth and one-hit kills.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is, in many respects, a long-awaited return to form for the series. Since Assassin's Creed Origins released in 2017, long-time fans noticed that the series was focusing a little bit too much on the new RPG elements, and doing away with the stealth element, so this new title has been very well-received.
Video game critics have already had the chance to play and review this new entry in the series, and fans will be happy to know that Assassin's Creed Valhalla does, indeed, give players the Assassin's Creed experience they have been longing for; with a very solid 81/100 on review aggregator site Metacritic.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has, in fact, just become available today for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC(Epic, Ubisoft Store, Windows 10) and will be available for the PlayStation 5 on launch day, so fans of the series have no excuses to get their hands on the game.
Now that the game has finally launched for most platforms, Ubisoft has released a new, and quite epic cinematic trailer in order to celebrate that Assassin's Creed Valhalla is now, at last, with us.
