The first rumors about the future of the
Assassin's Creed series had emerged a year ago, long before the official announcement of
Assassin's Creed Origins. According to rumors, Ubisoft's big plan envisioned three games that would tell the story of the roots of the Creed. Apparently, the first game would be set in Ancient Egypt, the second one in Greece, with the grand final taking place in Rome.
Odyssey was officially announced a week ago and all signs are pointing towards setting the action in Ancient Greece as Gematsu has discovered the first screenshots of
Odyssey. Thanks to these hi-res screenshots, we have an unofficial confirmation that the naval gameplay which debuted in Assassin's Creed III and was later dramatically changed in
Black Flag will return, just like
Unity's customization, and similar to
Origins skill tree featuring three main paths of Hunter, Assassin, and Warrior.
The map size has also leaked and it looks like we will have a chance to explore famous islands like Kos, Paros and Melos. Apparently, the size of the game's world will be a bit smaller than
Origins'. Players will have a chance to use the debuting in the series dialogue options, but it seems that we should not expect too much as there are only two options to choose from. The images comes directly from the E3 demo that will be presented during the main show.
Ubisoft will held its annual E3 conference on Monday, June 11 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET. Take a look:
